Lime and calciumcarbonate
Lime is a by-product from the sulphate-process in the pulp production line. The lime is recirculated in the pulp mill after reconditioning (calcination) in order to absorb impurities. The lime consists och calcium carbonate and calcium hydroxide and is widely used as fertilizers in the forest and agricultural industries.
Our first lime kilns and lime coolers were supplied already in the 1950’s.
In the illustration you can see an example of how our indirect tubular heat exchanger is working as an external lime cooler . The technology is also suitable for predrying of lime prior to the lime kiln where it will be calcined to burnt lime or quicklime.
